I, Louise Green Harrison, arrived in Killington June 1, 1976 and 6 weeks later with a $1500 loan from my grandfather BO, who was more like a father to me, I established a small custom made clothing shop and boutique that was a major factor in bringing fashion to the Rutland area. I brought the first designer jeans to the area. My competitors thought I was crazy and would fail. They were quoted in the Rutland Herald, "No one in Rutland will ever pay $75 for designer jeans!". So I owned and operated 6 little shops in Rutland and Killington, and on the coast of Maine for 18 years. The stores were: "Greenbean's Attic" and "Bo Craven" located in Kennebunkport and Ogunquit Maine, Killington and downtown Rutland. Sadly the stores closed in 1993 (long story) when my youngest son Ben was 5. I became a full time mother and discovered YOGA. In 1995 I became a certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher. I currently teach a weekly ongoing class Peace of Mind Emporium on Wednesdays at 5PM, and practice regularly with my husband Jim at home. I began my real estate career by "pre-selling" the Killington Grand Hotel project for the American Skiing Company. In 1998 I became a REALTOR, and have been successfully selling homes, land and condos since. After working for 3 other agencies, the last one closing, I decided to open my own office in October 2002 and the rest is history. Check out our "Happily Closed" button to see what I mean. Please keep in mind that many of our closed sales were MLS listings so they do not appear. I take pride in bringing the buyer and seller together. My sales associates, Peter Bowry, Lynn Huntoon Acker, and Lisa Duffy along with Gail Abel my office manager & closing coordinator all work together as a team. Buyers can work with any or all of us. We take pride in our inner office communication, and list, market and sell each unique property, always striving for the ultimate WIN / WIN. Family: Louise and her husband Jim Harrison, a commercial photographer, from Cambridge, Mass, recently moved from Chittenden to Killington in late 2006. Jim has never regretted the the 3 hour commute as he was able to be apart of the wonderful Vermont lifestyle we all have here. Jim has many famous clients all over the world, and is a contributing editor of Harvard Magazine. Check out his web site: www.jharrisonphotography.com Our youngest son Ben Harrison is 20!. He graduated from Rutland High School with high honors in June of 06. After HS he did a year of volunteer work with inner city kids in Boston with a program called City Year (Americorp). He is now finishing his second of five years at Syracuse School of Architecture. Son Michael Skaskiw, graduated from Penn State, and is living in Phoenix, Arizona with his lovely wife Teresa in their wonderful new home. On May 15, 2008, I became Cara Skaskiw's grandma! My first grandchild is amazing! Michael is a real estate appraiser and Teresa is a Realtor. Coinsidentally, my Mom was a Real Estate Broker, state of PA commisioner as well as an appraiser! Mom now lives in Lauderdale by the Sea, Florida. Birthson Grayson and his lovely wife Kim live in Florida. Grayson has worked for over two decades as a Lifeguard and EMT on Hutchinson Island We have two boxers named Lucy and George (Harrison). They share the same energy, spirit and hysterical personalities. They hang out in our office so if you don't like dogs please call ahead ahead... and I will put them in my truck... Yes, I drive a Toyota Tundra... it helps to haul stuff to and from our rental properties, including the Hideaway Chalet that Jim and I own. It is a perfect reunion / ski house that legally sleeps 24. Life is very hopeful... Most of my family supported President Elect Obama.. even my parents who raised me in the 50's and 60's, in the (at the time) very republican white PA town of Clarks Summit. Jim has been Senator Joe Biden's photographer for many many years. We have many republican friends and we like them alot!!!! Give us a call. My associates and I ARE REAL PEOPLE who respect all opinions... Half of us voted for Senator McCain. Remember: We ALL need to keep things in perspective and remember to reuse and recycle, stretch our minds and bodies, and carpool!
